Research Interests
My research interests focus on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms that regulate cardiac regeneration and repair. In particular, I am interested in how sensory neurons and cardiac innervation influence regenerative responses following heart injury. I use zebrafish and neonatal mouse models to investigate neuron–heart interactions and their roles in cardiac regeneration.
What made you choose this program at UW–Madison?
I chose this graduate program for its flexibility, outstanding faculty, and strong collaborative network. UW–Madison offers an excellent research environment, advanced facilities, and a supportive academic community. I was especially drawn to its strength in regenerative biology and the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with leading researchers in the field.
