Research Interests
My current research focuses on how soil microbial communities respond to and recover from high-intensity, stand-replacing wildfires in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. I am particularly interested in the dynamics of ectomycorrhizal fungal and their roles in nutrient poor forest ecosystems. I am also interested in developing and applying inclusive, research-informed teaching practices in STEM classrooms.
