Research Interests
My research interests focus on understanding the molecular and developmental biology of parasitic flatworm and their interaction with their host. I’m currently investigating the development of Schistosoma mansoni during the intramolluscan stage of the parasite, with a particular interest in the intrinsic and extrinsic factors that regulate daughter sporocyst development and its transition to cercaria.
What made you choose this program at UW–Madison?
I chose this program because my research interest aligns with the work in Newmark’s lab where I have the opportunity to study schistosome biology using molecular, cellular and genomic approaches.
